Strong winds ripped through much of the Inland Northwest this on Saturday morning and Post Falls, Idaho, appears to be one of the areas that has been hit the hardest.

Power outages have been reported throughout post falls due to fallen trees. The damage has escalated and trees are now falling on homes and breaking roofs.

Police are working to assist with the damage. According to one KREM 2 viewer who called in, some areas are now being coned off because the damage is so extensive.

“How many trees I saw, how many homes and how many cars were crushed. It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before,” said Kevin Dean who had a large tree impact his home.

For homeowners like Dean, listening to the sound the wind makes outside of his house has become familiar, but the results of a tree leaning on his home caught him off guard. “There are hundreds of people affected right now,” Dean said. “Trees on so many houses so I feel lucky it’s minimal on mine but it’s still going to be a pretty major repair.”
